A Brilliant Future. Flexible qualification pathways in the cleaning sector: a chance for all!
- Final conference offered by ECAP, leader of the Valbuk project - Biel, 28th & 29th of August 20
Initiated in 2012 by the Foundation ECAP (Switzerland), the Valbuk project aims at offering a competence approach for employees in the cleaning sector. The main goal of the Valbuk is to implement and use ECVET principles in order to facilitate access to lifelong learning and qualifications of migrant workers in an emblematic sector, cleaning services. A solid and competent consortium, including stakeholders of CVET and the owner of the original model to be transfered (3S-Austria), will design a VQTS Matrix of competences taking into account the needs identified by the market (employers and users) and will test this tool among professionals (employers and emplyees).
Its main results are: a VQTS MAtrix in ordeer to compare existing qualifications in the cleaning services sector, define a shared competence Matrix declined in units of learning outcomes (areas of competences) ;EQF levels and steps of development of the competences on the baisis of complexity of knwoledge and skills, autonomy and responsibility, related to activities included in the Matrix; Guidelines and related procedures for the complettion of a fexible and modular qualification pathway based on the Matrix;operational partnerships involving stakeholders and key actors in the cleaniong sector and employment of migrant workers ;rasining awarenbess of ECVET potentialities in the cleaning sector;a website : www.valbuk.ch.

- Sympsosyum for the European Year ofr Active Ageing and solidarity between generations - 13th of October 2012, Luxembourg (Luxembourg).
On the occasion of the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between generations, the National Agency for Volunteering in Luxembourg organised together with the Ministry for Family and the Integration a symposyum on the following topics : How to succeed the transition between an active life and retirement : the role played by the employee and the role to be played by the firm ? What find of valorisationis offered by firms to value its employees’ involvement ? Part&Act : a tool for Human resources facilitating a successful transition employment - retirement. A share responsibility between the State, the civil society and the firms.

Red Cross from Belgium
- Conference Volontaires et salariés du non-marchand - Brusells, Belgium, 6th of March 2009
The belgian Red cross has been working with the University of Liège (South of Belgium) on the relationship between volunteers and paid staff among their teams. Experts of volunteering and representatives of the national societies of the Red Cross (in Europe and Africa) were invited to deliver a speech.
The president of iriv made a presentation the relation ship between volunteers and paid staff focussing on either complementarity or competition between both of them.Her article was published in the proceedings of the conference.

IMS Luxembourg
- Conference Valoriser les acquis de l'expérience bénévole - Luxembourg, 30th of April 2009
The Institute for Social Responsibility (IMS), created in 2006 , gathers firms in Luxembourg (such as Dexia, Bank of Luxembourg...) willing to enhance the social role of private sector in the society.
The IMS asked the president of iriv to present the issues of a volunteering and the dimensions of assessing a voluntary experience (AVE) both on a personal and collective level. AVE is part of the social responsibility of firms that would accept to take into account knowledge, know how and skills/competences acquired outside the firm that might be used and valued in the yearly evaluation of their employees.

Hellenic Open University
- International Conference The role and prospects of Cultural Mediation - Patras, Greece, 9th of October 2009
The Hellenic Open University (HOU) , has organised an international conference to present the results of the Leonardo da Vinci project TIPS initiated by the Italian University of Stidies Guglielmo Marconi together with Auxilium (Austria), Iriv (France), HOU (Greece) and the Tischner University (Poland). Academic participants came from Germany, Austria, France,Greece, Italy, Poland and Portugal.
The president of iriv delivered a speech on the future of migration in Europa and wrote an article Migration-Mediation in Europe. She chaired the round table on local and national policies on immigration in Greece involving Greek participants ; the debates were vivid.

Association for Women in Cap-Verde
- Italian Symposyum Associazionismo capoverdiano in Italia e nel mondo : bilancio e prospettive - Rome, Italy, 30 th of March 2008
This conference was organised for the XXth birthday of the Association for women from Capo-Verde in Italy. It has gathered reprentatives from the community of Capo-Verde in Italy, the Ambassador from Capo-Verde in Italy, the president from the institute for communities and all Capo-Verde associations settled in Italy (Rome, Firenze, Napoli, Genova...), the secretary for solidarity in Italy, Dr Cristina de Luca, Dr Renato Fricanco (Feo-Fivol), and the president of iriv.
The president of iriv presented the results of two previous Europeen projects, Mem-Vol et Involve, dedicated to volunteering as a social and cultural way of integration for migrants and ethnics minorities together with the first national report for the Tips Project, on policies in the field of immigration and integration in France and Europe, focussing on the main issues for the future.

Cermes & Ethnologic Institute (University of Sofia)
- European conference, Migration in and from South Eastern Europe - Sofia , Bulgaria, 2nd and 3rd of June 2008
This conference was organised both by Cermes (New Bulgarian University) and the Ethnographic Institute and Museum (Bulgarian Academy of Science) with the support by the Federal Ministry of Science and Research of the Republic of Austria in the framework of its SEE science cooperation initiative. The Austrian partners were the Austrian Science and Research Liaison Office (ASO) and the Asutrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research (BM.W_F).. It gathered representatives of European countries (from European Union : Austria, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Czeck Republic and Slovenia) and Balkanic countries willing to enter the European Union (Albania and former Yougoslavian countries such as Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia).
The president of iriv presented the TIPS project focussing on the Lifelong Learning approach in the migration issues. This project will propose a training course for intercultural mediators , professionals working with migrants. She insisted on the innovative aspect of the project linked to the brand new profession and the new technology of infomation and communication it is using (TV-learning, mobile-learning and Internet learning). It should better answer the needs expressed by migrants.

This European seminar entitled "Citizenship, social involvement and volunteering" addressed students from Austria, Sweden, Czech Republic in Master 1, 2 and Doctorates at the University of Vienna (Austria).

- European Final Conference VPL 2- Valuning Prior Learning - Nijmegen, Netherlands, 11th to 14th of September 2007
This conference organised by the Han University (Netherlands) presented the results of the Leonardo da Vinci project VPL2 which gathered 11 countries : Netherlands (leader), Germany, Cyprus, France, Irland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Czech Republic and UK.
The final publication of the Vpl 2 includes the article written by the president of iriv on volunteering & VPL2. Moreover the second award for the examples of good practices in the field of VPL in Europe was delivered to the French example of VPL in volunteering, the Aria case study presented by iriv.

XVIth World Volunteer Conference
- International Workshop Youth volunteering : issues & propopals - Amsterdam , Netherlands, 16th of January 2001
The XVIth World Conference on Volunteering was organised by the IAVE and the Dutch Center for Volunteering in Amsterdam with the Dutch Minister Wim Kok and the president of IAVE, Kenn Allen, with an opening speech of Kofi Annan. More than 100 countries attended the confrence.
The president of iriv delivered a speech together with her German colleague from ISIS, Italian colleague from the FIVOL and Spanish colleague from AEVOL on Youth volunteering. The workshop aimed at presenting the results of the European project initiated and directed by iriv on Youth volunteering -
NPOE
- International perspectives on Innovation in Senior Volunteerism - Utrecht , Netherlands, 22-23 March 2001
A European seminar proposed by NPOE- Netherlands Platform Older People and Europe. The aim was to think of the European and international perspectives of Senior volunteering. Attended the seminar Ger Tielen and Fritz Bösenberg (NPOE), Bénédicte Halba (iriv), Jürgen Schumacher (Isis), Laura Wilson and Jack Steele (University of Maryland, Etats-Unis).
The president of iriv proposed a paper on "Senior Volunteering : a European and innovative approach to Ageing and Ability". The main aim of the seminar was to present the background and on going projects, key issues for proposing a European project on Senior Volunteering in the framawork of the fifth Framework Programme for Research, Technological, Development and Demonstration (1998-2002) promoted by teh European Commission, Key Action 6 "The ageing population and disabilities" which adopts a problem-solving approach in which it aims to put research to work to meet the challenges posed by both the ageing of individuals and the ageing of society.
