The value of Volunteering has been a reality for associations for over thirty years. It has become an accounting obligation. Mobilizing human generosity (volunteering) or financial (donations) is the genesis of associations. Freedom of association and non-profit organizations (ONBL) are a fundamental touchstone in democracies. They play a crucial role in civil dialogue by contributing to public policies, and through their in-depth knowledge of the field. They encourage active and responsible citizenship. The article suggests an international, European and French panorama of the accounting standards applied and the need to measure volunteering within non-profit organizations (NPOs). Valuing requires evaluating the contributions of volunteers, therefore the missions entrusted to them within associations. To give a value implies a fine estimate of the service rendered on the ground with the millions of users of the associative services, the «beneficiaries» or the «public». Clearing the statistical fog is a necessity for the growing voluntary commitment in Europe for more than fifty years to be taken into account by the public authorities so that they continue to support them financially. Companies also have a social responsibility. Valuing without devaluing, in accordance with the international accounting standards of ONBL, so that voluntary contributions are fully recognized in the accounts of nations -this is the essential mission entrusted to the accountants.

- 2017 - The role of professionals in promoting divesrity and inclusiveness - This review of the literature is meant to provide an initial theoretical framework concerning the role of professionals in dealing with cultural and linguistic diversity and promoting inclusiveness. Professionals are broadly defined as all adults who work with children, either in an official institution, such as (pre)school, or in the context of community-based (volunteer) services. It was written by Paulline Slot (University of Utrecht) & Benedicte Halba (iriv) for the project ISOTIS (2017-2019).
- 2017 - Tutorat pour les professionnels qui travaillent avec des jeunes - Tutoring written by Bénédicte Halba for iriv conseil, French partner and co-initiator of the Eramus + project JuCiVol, Junior Citizens for Volunteering together with the University of Burgos (Spain), leader.
- 2017 - Tutoring for Educators to support youngsters in Volunteering for Citizeship - Tutoring written by Bénédicte HAlba for the JUCIVOL (2016-2018) initiated by iriv conseil together with the University of Burgos (Spain) -an Erasmus + project - Key Action 3 gathering Spain (leader), France (iriv conseil), Italy (Erifo), Cyprus (INEK PEO) and Slovenia (ZRC SAZU). The tutoring addresses professionals- mainly teachers and educators- working with young European Union citizens who are of migrant background and/or live in sensitive urban areas. The tutoring support professionals to express and value competences acquired thanks to a voluntary experience mainly focused on KC6- social and civic competences and KC7- sense of intiative and entrepreneurship on the basis of the training designed for youngsters for the JuCiVol.

In terms of diversity, Europe has played a role on several levels. The manual designed for the Think Diverse! provides a basis for continuing education for adults accompanying young people (regardless of their profile) who work in multicultural environments, a key feature of modern societies. The spirit of the Think Diverse project is to use creativity and creative skills as a human resources management tool, with a multidisciplinary approach combining economics, management, law, history, sociology, psychology.

This guide designed for the Think Diverse (Erasms +, 2021-2023) is meant to support the creative sets suggested in the three countries to enhance diversity.
In a first point it reminds the creativity approach together with a very applied approach suggested by the Epstein Inventory and a selection of key articles mentionned in the bibliography.
In a second point the general context of diversity in Europe is reminded- with the legal framework suggested since 1957 (Treaty of Rome), some main improvements since 2000 (Directives against discrimination based on gender & ethnic origin) and the Charter for Fundamental rights adopted in 2010 (50 rights on the basis of 6 notions : Dignity ;Freedoms ; Equality ; Solidarity; Citizen’s rights & Justice) .
In a third point, the different kinds of diversity selected for the Think Diverse are explained as an illustration of the innovative strategy implemented– gender diversity in Italy (Skill up & TAG, Italy), mental/health diversity (Curva Polar & Neotalentway, Spain) and interreligious & intercultural diversity (iriv & Lirac, France).
In a fourth point, some practical exercises are explained- working on stereotypes & clichés; a “geographical” diversity in the cities gathered (Rome, Grenada and Paris) as examples of European cities – modern, multicultural, and diverse.
The glossary is suggesting a selection of notions that can be enriched by educators while working with youngsters or with their co-workers.
