This Newsletter is the 12th published in 2025 and the 46th since February 2022. The slogan 'United colors' was necessary to close a contrasted year where Europeans and Ukraine were faced to 'all colors'. A final "friendly" initiative in November 2025 - a “peace” plan proposed by the American envoy for Ukraine, inspired by his Russian counterparts. Diversity is the "red rag" or the "black beast" of autocracies and reactionary movements. First indicator of a democracy in modern multicultural societies, it is heckled in Russia of Putin and in America of the MAGA (Make America Great Again). The fierce repression of dissident voices is the best demonstration that diversity in all its facets is a strength for democracies and a threat to dictatorships and authoritarian abuses. The European countries show a strong unity behind Ukraine, they have become the first contributors to the war effort. The Ukrainian front has become the external border of the EU directly threatened by Vladimir Putin’s regime. The State of the Union speech delivered on the 10th of September 2025 by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, expresses the will of the Europeans to take their destinies into their own hands. The European Union and most of its members must refuse to be invisible. They can and should wear their colors proudly - Europeans, with flying colours!

This Newsletter is the 11th published in 2025 and the 45th since the Russian aggression. Orange is a neutral color attached to the Revolution in Ukraine during the 2004 elections - the flag chosen by the opposition that demanded the end of a corrupt power inherited from the past. Russian disinformation has strengthened with Covid and increased tenfold since its alliance with China, Iran, or North Korea, which form a common front against the West. They rely on a victim narrative where Westerners would be responsible for all the ills against their countries and the whole world. Agent Orange used in Vietnam is one element among others in a broader and systematic strategy of distorting facts and misinformation. Westerners have committed and recognized crimes in their stories that they must repair and assume. But they are not responsible for all the misfortunes of the planet. An escalation is reached in November 2025 with a return of nuclear weapons brandished as a threat by the United States like Russia. Europe is carried away by the Russian regime in a strategy of ultra-violence against individuals (hot war) and institutions (hybrid war). The Europeans are in the situation described by Stanley Kubrick in "Clockwork Orange» - victims of psychological and mental conditioning to lower their guard and submit to autocracies who only want «their own good».

This Newsletter is the 10th published in 2025 and the 44th since the beginning of the Russian aggression. Pink is a color associated with calm and softness, with femininity. It may have been mocked for her mignardiness, its 'effeminate' side, or for the blissful optimism evoked by a life in pink. The flower has thorns. Geopolitics is not rosy in October 2025. The year was marked by sad anniversaries with the first atomic bomb dropped in Hiroshima (1945-2025) and a curious Cold War relaunched by Vladimir Putin since he came to power. In 2025, the unnatural rapprochement between the United States and Russia seems delirious - a paradox of the pink elephant? The Ukrainians have an optimism fixed in their bodies, a mental 'think pink' necessary to survive, 600 days after the start of a murderous war. The uncertainty about their future and the frustration of the hot/cold imposed by an erratic American ally are extreme. The European Union was not spared - subjected to a most rock'n roll, hard rock, atmosphere, «Guns N Roses» spirit, a Californian band born in 1985. The threats of the American team are implemented one after the other. The Europeans must finance at full price their security within NATO and face an all-out trade war declared by the United States which imposes leonine clauses on their 'ally'. Let’s decide to see life in pink, so as not to be discouraged. What would a life without thorns be ?

It has become the banner of feminist struggles. 'Imperial violets' is also the name of a musical comedy that caused a sensation in the fifties with Luis Mariano. A curious staging, the reconciliation between the American and Russian presidents, in the heart of summer, on August 15th, symbolic day of the Assumption of Mary, but also a public holiday where millions of viewers or internet users were able to follow the "show" live. It recalled the Hollywood of the heyday. The Europeans were not fooled. They reacted quickly to thwart this bad romance; a deal at the expense of Ukraine and the Europeans. Russia continues its global disinformation campaign with unexpected support since January 2025 at the White House. Will the hypnotic charisma of Vladimir Putin, like the python Kaa succeed in manipulating President Donald Trump? The European Union, like the panther Bagheera, watches over Ukraine, embodied by the young Mowgli. If the predators want to impose a law of the jungle, let us be inspired by the Jungle Book to build a European counter-narrative, an operation 'Imperial Violets': from Europe, with all our affection.

This Newsletter is the 7th published in 2025 and the 42nd since the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Gray is the intermediate color between black and white. With a caricatural, binary, black or white approach, gray has infinite shades. But at night, all cats are gray; we no longer know the true from the false, the good from the evil. The Russian population has been mistreated during its history – freed from the tsarist feudal yoke, it has been manipulated by the apparatchiks of the Soviet era, of gray souls. They welcomed Vladimir Putin like a saviour in 2000. Gray matter and courage are the two characteristics of Ukrainians who have been resisting for more than ten years against the repeated attacks of the Russian regime. There is no shortage of grey eminences in Europe. Faced with the announced withdrawal of their first ally, the United States, the Europeans are rearming and taking back their destiny in hand. They are caught between a direct war (led by Russia in Ukraine) and an indirect one (trade war). This double strategy of coercion is not a "silver bullet". The European Union is not made up of robots but of human beings with strong emotions sometimes difficult to master. To the «replicants» of Blade Runner (1), grey souls, we will always oppose the European spirit, with all its shades of grey. The silver bullet is in our camp.

This Newsletter is the 7th published in 2025 and the 41st since the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Brown is an ambivalent color that symbolizes sobriety and austerity or a devastating glamour in Hollywood. The 'marrons' were in the French Antilles (1642-1848) the name given to people reduced to slavery who had regained their freedom. A racist and hierarchical approach is consubstantial with authoritarian regimes that set their fellow citizens against each other and fuel dissent. Since his arrival in power, Vladimir Putin has continued to lie to his fellow citizens, to his interlocutors, and to the rest of the world – the Russians are «brown», the first victims, taken for a ride. Ukraine is facing new challenges and must be able to skillfully pull its irons from the fire by thwarting the pitfalls of the new American strategy inspired by the Russian approach, a "vertical of fear". In spy novels or films, harmless names evoke ambiguous cases or situations. The ”marrons glacés”, like 'white elephants' refer to mirages or 'Trojan horses' refer to traps, are targets in Europe for the Russian regime. They can be poisoned for the West and prove to be very indigestible for Russia. Nothing is played.

This newsletter is the 6th published in 2025 and the 40th since the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Black is a scary color in the Bible. It evokes the darkness, the underworld, hell, the night carrying childish terrors. Black is also the color of authority, austerity and elegance for many designers. The French artist Pierre Soulages has created a “black side” which is “relief, satin light, hidden, then sharp”. (1) Black is associated with hydrocarbons, the black gold (Oil) that made the fortune of Vladimir Putin and his cronies, the «gang of oligarchs». It allowed to exercise a blackmail on the Westerners who have implicitly betrayed Ukraine by agreeing to buy cheap oil and gas from Russia that could finance its wars. The black suns are associated with ultra-right and far-right extremism largely supported by Russia since Putin came to power and declared war on the West in 2007 at the Munich Security Conference. In 2025, the threat is more frightening as it comes from the allies of the West, the United States. A curious alchemy occurs in this year that celebrates the end of the Second World War (1945-2025). The allies of yesterday who allowed the triumph of freedom and democracy in the XXth Century are engaged in a curious ideological and economic war. A surprising black alchemy.

This newsletter is the 5th published in 2025 and the 39th since the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Yellow is a color that is not loved, associated with betrayal, deceit, or lies. The informational war breaks out in 2025, which celebrates the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War with the armistice of May 8, 1945. Russia is pleased to see unexpected support from an American team that has forgotten who the aggressor was and who was the attacked. Confusion is widespread. The history lessons must keep us alert. Worrying signals are multiplying. Democracy is demanding. Intermediate bodies must function, for example free unions must fight against the «yellow» militants «infiltrated» who do not defend the rights of employees. Respect for the rule of law is another indicator with the defense of justice that must be well done and motivated; Ukraine is a "yellow jersey" in this area by opening the way in Europe for other countries threatened (Moldova, Georgia...)°. The European Union was created on the ashes of totalitarianism (Fascism and then Nazism) which wanted to destroy the Europe of the Enlightenment. This newsletter is the 4th published in 2025 and the 38th since the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Green is associated with spring, renewal, impulsive spirit. It can also symbolize instability, misfortune or medieval demons. Aliens (ETs) are little green people who can be nice messengers or fanatical hackers launched against the US federal administration, valiantly defended by the acting director of the FBI. The Russian president took advantage of the chaos caused by the Arab Spring (2011), a wind of freedom quickly repressed, to regain its place on the international stage (in 2013). His motives are far from peaceful when he allies himself with the Assad clan that has martyred the Syrians since 1970 or the regime of the Mullahs who persecute his youth and any opposition since 1979. The sun is green in Ukraine after the merciless war delivered by Russia since 2022- an NGO supported by the German and Swedish governments and an environmental defense foundation has been able to quantify the Russian debt. In the European Union, the CSRD directive applied since 2024 encourages transparency of companies' information to respect the planet. We hope that the greenwashing practiced by some companies does not pollute the negotiations for a lasting peace in Ukraine…

This project initiated and led by the Italian University UCSC with the German University HDBA, the Spanish organization ESMOVIA and the iriv for France allowed to develop two MOOCs for candidates for expatriation or mobility.

This newsletter is the 3rd published in 2025 and the 37th since the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Red symbolizes fire (life) and blood (death). It is associated with the divine or sin. It was the color of the nobility of the clergy (cardinals) as that of the Bolshevik revolutions of 1917 or of communist China of 1949. Red is a color of passion. It fits perfectly with the tyranny of emotions that characterizes the 21st century. We often hesitate between laughter and tears in the face of a geopolitics that escapes us and makes us anxious. The falsification of history is a specialty of the USSR as well as of Putin’s Russia, the recovery of the Red Army is a good example. At the beginning of 2025, Ukraine is subliminally sending red lights to its allies as US aid enters a transactional phase. The “red lines” that must not be crossed, judged as points of no return, must be used wisely against opponents who constantly blur the cards and push the limits ever further. The European Parliament has recalled what would be the red lines of the EU in an eloquent text, published in January 2025, facing a Russian informational war that is about to recover the allied victory of the Second World War (1945-2025). If yesterday Allies decide to declare a war to the European Union, they must be prepared to red flag from Europe. Let’s hope for the best but be prepared to the worst.

This newsletter is the 2nd published in 2025 and the 36th since the Russian aggression against Ukraine. White is an ambivalent color. The white flag is raised to call for a ceasefire, as a sign of surrender. It is a symbol of neutrality or peace, symbolized by a white dove and its olive branch. Russian and Soviet regimes have instrumentalized pacifism and the defenders of peace in Europe to wage a clandestine war against the West. The KGB archives uncovered undercover operations during the Cold War; only the terms and means have changed. Ukrainians are the first victims of this offensive and insidious strategy, which has dragged them into a long sleepless night since 2014. The Scandinavians know well those nights, sometimes without sleep, when the day is without light for months. The construction of Europe is threatened. Some pioneer countries are destabilized. Faced with so much uncertainty, we can lose ground. There are also new avenues to be explored. The economic weapon is compelling. White stones were laid in January 2025 with the first payment of a European loan for Ukrainians and a Strategic European Defense Plan suggested under the Polish presidency with the support of all Europeans to prepare for peace in Ukraine and Europe. White may also be a color full of hope…

The first issue 2025 of the newsletter "Solidarity Ukraine"- Blue hour. This newsletter is the 35th since the Russian aggression against Ukraine. The blue colour is associated with the European flag and its 12 golden stars that symbolizes identity and unity, the ideals of solidarity and harmony among the peoples of Europe. The future of the European Union is closely linked to that of Ukraine, attacked by Russia in 2014 (Maidan Revolution). By 2025, there are signs of hope, perhaps a blue hour in Europe. The Polish presidency that starts in January could breathe the spirit of Solidarnosc, the end of the Russian/Soviet threat to Ukraine..
